Cedar is a versatile and durable softwood that grows in the North America. Although there are many different types of cedar trees, the one we used for our lumber are Western Red Cedar and Alaskan Yellow Cedar.
Western Red Cedar is one of the least dense wood types, which is why it’s been historically used to make canoes and boats.
